Salvador Airport receives CASACOR 2020 environment

"Janela do Viajante" is exhibited in the terminal check-in area

Until the next December 12th, Salvador Bahia Airport, operated by VINCI Airports, makes part of its check-in facilities available for “Quarto a Beira Mar”, one of the environments of the Janelas CASACOR exhibition. In addition to the commitment to sustainability and passenger comfort, the terminal's premise is to enhance the concept of "Sense of Place", which aims to enhance the cultural identity of Bahia, in its most varied manifestations. This initiative is in line with VINCI Airports' objective to make each airports of its network a unique place, rich of the influences of its territory.

The environment installed at the airport was developed by the architect Bruna Oliveira. The space will present passengers who pass by the place all the beach charm that the Bahian capital has, but without neglecting the warmth and welcoming needed for a bedroom. The experience will be possible by combining the furniture together with the design details and materials used in the project, such as the woody porcelain floor.

"Casa Cor Bahia is a demonstration of the talent of several Bahian architects. Here at the Airport, we like to show our visitors the best of Bahia and, therefore, it is an honor to receive the exhibition in our terminal. It is important for us to value Bahian art also through architecture and design", said Daniela Franco, Communications Manager at Salvador Bahia Airport, on the architecture, decoration and landscaping exhibition.

About Salvador Bahia Airport

Located in Salvador, capital of Bahia and the first Brazilian capital, Salvador Bahia Airport has been part of the VINCI Airports network since January 2, 2018 through a 30-year Concession Contract. Since then, the airport has incorporated global operating standards, seeking to deliver more efficiency, safety and a better travel experience for its passengers. With this objective, works were carried out to modernize and expand the passenger terminal, an investment of R $ 700 million that increased its capacity by 50%, from 10 million to 15 million passengers per year.

Named as the "Most Sustainable Aerodrome in Brazil", Salvador Bahia Airport stands out for its pioneering spirit in environmental preservation actions. Guided by Air Pact, VINCI Airports' global strategy, the airport was the first in Brazil to reuse 100% of the water consumed, not to dispense solid waste for landfills and to have a solar plant – with 4.2 MW of power. The airport's actions to reduce carbon emissions led it to receive the Carbon Accreditation Certification (ACA Certification) by the International Airport Council (ACI).
