The data was disclosed in the Cirium On-Time Performance Report for the month of July

Salvador Bahia Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, made it to the top of the list of the most punctual airports in the world in the medium category. The punctuality report is published by Cirium, a company that specializes in data for aviation and travel.

Salvador Bahia Airport achieved a punctuality rate of 95.09% for departures in July. Landings achieved 93.50% punctuality. In total, 3,887 flights were accounted for, covering 26 routes served by the aerodrome.

For Antonio Mendes, operations director at Salvador Bahia Airport, the airport's leadership represents VINCI Airports network’s constant commitment, and the important partnership with Auxiliary Air Transport Services Companies (ESATAs, in Portuguese) and airlines.

"This type of recognition is a reflection of our care for travelers. Salvador airport is a hub with a large number of arrivals and departures, so modern equipment, which offers punctuality, is essential for a good user experience", explains the director.

In addition to strict schedules, Mendes reinforces his commitment to making Salvador Bahia Airport an even safer environment for passengers and the airport community. "Our measures to fight Covid-19 are already recognized internationally, confirming that the adequacy of infrastructures and processes are in line with global health and safety protocols", he adds.

About Salvador Bahia Airport

Located in Salvador, capital of Bahia and the first Brazilian capital, Salvador Bahia Airport has been part of the VINCI Airports network since January 2, 2018 through a 30-year Concession Contract. Since then, the airport has incorporated global operating standards, seeking to deliver more efficiency, safety and a better travel experience for its passengers. With this objective, works were carried out to modernize and expand the passenger terminal, an investment of R $ 700 million that increased its capacity by 50%, from 10 million to 15 million passengers per year.

Named as the "Most Sustainable Aerodrome in Brazil", Salvador Bahia Airport stands out for its pioneering spirit in environmental preservation actions. Guided by Air Pact, VINCI Airports' global strategy, the airport was the first in Brazil to reuse 100% of the water consumed, not to dispense solid waste for landfills and to have a solar plant – with 4.2 MW of power. The airport's actions to reduce carbon emissions led it to receive the Carbon Accreditation Certification (ACA Certification) by the International Airport Council (ACI).
