Salvador Bahia Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, is preparing to handle passenger traffic during the 2026 winter high season. Between June 15 and July 31, the airport in the Bahian capital will offer nearly 1.5 million available seats, representing a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

This year, 1.4 million domestic seats and 75,000 international seats are scheduled throughout the period. The increase is driven by the expansion of operations by airlines such as GOL Linhas Aéreas, which recorded a 25% increase in seat supply on flights connecting Bahia to several regions of the country, and Copa Airlines, with new operations designed to facilitate access to various destinations across the Americas.

From June 18 to 26, the terminal will also have more than 267,000 domestic and international seats available for the São João festivities, an increase of 17% compared to last year's celebration.

Expansion of the air network

The winter season will also be marked by new routes, additional frequencies, and seasonal flights, strengthening the capital’s connectivity with destinations in the South, Southeast, and Northeast regions. One of the highlights is LATAM Airlines’ operation, with direct flights to Porto Alegre three times a week: on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, from June 15 to August 14.

In addition to this option, GOL will offer seasonal Saturday flights to Congonhas (São Paulo) and Ilhéus (Bahia) between June 20 and August 1. The flights will depart at 2:50 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively. The airline will also resume, starting on August 13, operations connecting Salvador to Teresina, in the state of Piauí. Flights will operate every Thursday and Saturday at 3:10 p.m.

During June and July, there will also be an itinerary with five weekly frequencies. Azul flights to Congonhas will depart from Monday to Friday. Another new development is the strengthening of operations to Santos Dumont Airport, in Rio de Janeiro. GOL and LATAM will each operate daily flights to the city.

“The increase is intended to keep pace with growing demand during the middle of the year, positioning Salvador among the country’s largest air connectivity hubs. We will experience another winter high season with a significantly expanded network, the result of strategic work carried out together with the airlines. These operations reflect VINCI Airports’ commitment in Brazil to providing travelers with more connectivity options and greater quality,” highlights Anderson Ribeiro, Air Business Manager of VINCI Airports in Brazil.
