Information about baggage

Checked Baggage

It is essential to be aware of your airline’s checked baggage policy. Each airline has its own guidelines regarding the weight, size, and number of bags allowed. Be sure to check these details in advance with your airline to avoid unpleasant surprises at check-in. It is also important to properly label your baggage with tags containing your contact information to facilitate locating it in case of loss. If you have any questions, contact your airline directly.

Carry-On Baggage

On domestic flights in Brazil, it is important to follow the rules for carry-on baggage. Each passenger is allowed one small bag with dimensions up to 35cm x 55cm x 25cm, in addition to one personal item such as a purse or backpack. The maximum allowed weight is 10 kg. It is recommended to carry essential items like documents, personal items, toiletries, and medications in your carry-on bag. Note that certain items are only allowed in checked baggage. For international flights, restrictions may vary between airlines. Therefore, it is advisable to check with your airline before the trip for specific carry-on baggage information.

Traveling with Liquids

On domestic flights within Brazil, it is prohibited to carry aerosols and air fresheners in carry-on baggage, except for those required for medical or personal use, provided they do not exceed four containers per person, each with a content of less than 300 ml or 300 g. For international flights, all liquids, including gels, pastes, creams, and aerosols, must be in individual containers of up to 100 ml each, placed in a transparent, sealed plastic bag with a maximum capacity of 1 liter and dimensions of up to 20 x 20 cm. Remember that liquids in containers larger than 100 ml are not allowed, even if partially filled. Additionally, when traveling from Brazil, passengers are allowed to carry a maximum of 5 liters of alcoholic beverages, divided into containers of up to 1 liter each, with an alcohol content of up to 70%, including both carry-on and checked baggage. These measures are intended to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers on board.

Special Baggage

If you plan to travel with special baggage such as surfboards, bicycles, musical instruments, or sports equipment, it is important to contact your airline in advance to obtain detailed information about their policies and any additional fees. Each airline has specific rules for transporting such baggage. Be sure to pack your special baggage properly to protect it during transportation. If you have questions or need more precise guidance, it is recommended to contact your airline directly.
