APRIL, 2026 – Salvador Bahia Airport will host, on April 30, a guided tour for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The initiative is part of the activities promoted during Autism Awareness Month and marks its third consecutive year, reinforcing the airport’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility.
The initiative welcomes children and young participants from the Associação de Pesquisa e Ensino Solidário da Bahia (APES) for an experience designed to simulate every stage of air travel, from check-in to the arrivals area. The goal is to provide an immersive and adapted experience for neurodivergent participants, encouraging greater social autonomy for future air travel experiences.
The initiative also helps identify situations that may be challenging for this audience throughout their airport journey, enabling the airport to implement improvements and solutions aimed at making the experience more welcoming, safe, and efficient.

In addition to the initiative, the airport continues to invest in other diversity and inclusion measures, including the implementation, later this year, of a multisensory room designed to provide a calmer and more comfortable environment for neurodivergent passengers.
Recognized in 2024 with the Jatobá Corporate Communication Award in three categories — Case of the Year, ESG, and Northeast Case — the initiative is carried out in partnership with Instituto Afetto, a consultancy focused on accessibility, human rights, and social assistance strategies, further reinforcing Salvador Bahia Airport’s commitment to expanding accessibility and inclusion within the airport environment.
