Salvador Bahia Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, has completed another stage of its modernization process with the replacement of two boarding bridges (jet bridges). The new equipment enters into operation during a period marked by increased passenger traffic, driven by the São João festivities and the high demand of the winter season.
With an investment of more than R$ 9 million, the initiative is part of a continuous airport infrastructure modernization plan, keeping pace with the evolution of aviation and the operational needs of the coming years. The updated technology allows operations with different aircraft models. The execution of the project involved complex logistics, planned to ensure the continuity of airport activities throughout all stages of the replacement process.
In addition to a structural renewal, the replacement represents an important technological advancement for the airport. The new boarding bridges feature more modern systems, providing greater precision when docking with aircraft, as well as gains in agility and operational efficiency. For passengers, this translates into greater comfort, smoother flows, and enhanced safety during boarding and disembarkation.
“We are building an airport that is increasingly modern and prepared for the future. These replacements are part of a structured infrastructure improvement plan focused on technology, efficiency, and service quality. In addition to raising safety standards and operational performance, these changes directly impact the journey of the thousands of passengers who pass through the terminal. This represents a more comfortable experience, with more agile processes from the moment of boarding,” highlights Julio Ribas, CEO of VINCI Airports in Brazil.
