As part of LGBTQIAPN+ Pride Month celebrations, Salvador Bahia Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, will host the 2026 Pride Festival: Art, Music and Diversity on June 30. The event will feature musical performances for passengers, visitors and the airport community, transforming the terminal into a space that celebrates diversity.

Curated and organized in partnership with Instituto Afetto, the initiative highlights LGBTQIAPN+ artists from Bahia, increasing the visibility of those who contribute to and strengthen the state's cultural scene. The project also encourages reflection on respect, belonging and authenticity, reinforcing the airport’s commitment to an inclusive culture that recognizes and celebrates diverse voices.

The musical performances will take place in the terminal’s Food Court from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will feature singer Manu and musician Chico Sanfoneiro.

“Every day, thousands of people pass through the airport, a place of encounters, connections and shared experiences. Holding another edition of the Pride Festival is a way to give visibility to LGBTQIAPN+ artists from Bahia and to celebrate the different voices that contribute to the cultural richness of our state. This initiative has become part of our annual calendar and reinforces our commitment to inclusion, respect and the celebration of diversity,” said Daniela Franco, Communications Manager at Salvador Bahia Airport.

“Promoting diversity is not something that happens only on symbolic dates. It becomes stronger when it is embedded in institutional culture, training processes, management practices and the everyday experiences of people. The Pride Festival reflects this commitment by valuing LGBTQIAPN+ artists and fostering dialogue with passengers, employees and partners. Over the past few years, we have witnessed VINCI Airports’ efforts to make this topic a permanent agenda through awareness initiatives, team training and inclusion-focused actions. The Festival concludes the June program, but it represents work that continues throughout the entire year,” said Suzana Coelho, CEO of Instituto Afetto and curator of the initiative.

Diversity and Inclusion Policies

Since the beginning of the concession in 2018, Salvador Bahia Airport has maintained a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Initiatives include the creation of a Diversity and Inclusion Committee and related policies, the promotion of ongoing training on the subject for employees and the airport community, and the implementation of a confidential reporting channel for investigating complaints.

Since 2023, the airport has been recognized with the LGBT+ Diversity Seal awarded by Salvador’s Municipal Secretariat for Reparation. In the same year, it received the 2023 Jatobá Award for the case study “Respect Is the Only Route – Pride Festival Gives Visibility to LGBTQIA+ Community Artists at Salvador Bahia Airport.” These initiatives reinforce the commitment established by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy adopted by VINCI Airports’ airports in Brazil.
