For the second consecutive year, Salvador Bahia Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, will host the Corrida da Asa (Wing Run), this time in its 40th edition.
On October 5, starting at 6:15 a.m., participants will enjoy the unique experience of running nearly 3 kilometers along the airport’s main runway — a restricted area that transforms into a one-of-a-kind setting for sports practice. The race will feature 6 km and 10 km courses, bringing together both professional and amateur athletes.

To make the use of the runway possible for the runners, the airport has prepared a special operation involving operations, safety, military, and airline teams. The planning ensures that the race takes place with full safety and no impact on landings and takeoffs, as regular flight operations will continue on the auxiliary runway.

In its 40th edition, the Corrida da Asa will pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Lieutenant Frederico Gustavo dos Santos, the only native of Salvador to join the 1st Fighter Aviation Group of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force. The event brings together sport, history, and aviation in a celebration of tradition and innovation.
