As of August 13, Salvador Bahia Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, will resume operating direct flights between the Bahia capital and Teresina, in Piauí. Offered by GOL, the flights will have two weekly frequencies: on Thursdays and Saturdays. Departure from Teresina will take place at 11:45 a.m., with arrival at Salvador Airport at 1:30 p.m. In the opposite direction, departure to the capital of Piauí will occur at 3:10 p.m., with expected arrival at 5:00 p.m. The distance between the two cities can be covered in less than two hours.
The resumption of the connection with the capital of Piauí marks an important moment for Salvador Airport: the Bahian capital now has air connections with all Northeastern states. This strengthens Salvador’s important role as a connection hub between the other states in the region and the rest of Brazil, in addition to international routes.
Salvador Bahia Airport has more than 200,000 seats to destinations in the Northeast, including locations within Bahia itself — an increase of 38% compared to the same period last year. The data refer to the month of April. Together, cities such as Fortaleza, Natal, and Maceió account for nearly 72,000 available seats. Among the positive variations, the capital of Ceará recorded a 91% increase in seat supply.

The main destination within the Northeast is Recife, with 64,000 available seats, an increase of 37% compared to April 2025. Within Bahia, the main highlight is Porto Seguro, which rose from just over 3,000 seats offered to more than 12,000, a growth of 293% in one year.
“The resumption of the Salvador–Teresina route represents another step in the expansion of our air network. With this connection, Salvador once again integrates with all Northeastern states, strengthening opportunities for mobility, business, and tourism. It is a strategic expansion that consolidates Salvador Bahia Airport as one of the main drivers of regional connectivity,” highlights Julio Ribas, CEO of VINCI Airports in Brazil.
