January 2025 – Salvador Bahia Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, recorded a total of 7.6 million passengers in 2024, marking a 3.6% increase compared to the previous year. During the fourth quarter, passenger traffic reached 1.96 million, representing a 0.5% growth compared to the same period in 2023.

In terms of operations, the airport registered 55,272 takeoffs and landings throughout 2024. In the last quarter alone, there were 13,704 commercial flights, reinforcing the connectivity of Bahia’s capital with both national and international destinations.

Global performance

More than 318 million passengers passed through airports in the VINCI Airports network in 2024, an increase of 8.5% compared to 2023 and 3.7% above the figures from 2019, the year prior to the pandemic. This growth reflects the recovery of global air traffic, with highlights including strong performances from airports such as Lisbon, which reached 35 million passengers, and Santiago, Chile, with 26 million.

The growth in traffic was driven by strong demand for tourist destinations, especially in Europe and Latin America. Brazil and the United States stood out as key long-haul markets, while regional routes also showed significant performance, supported by increased capacity from airlines like LATAM, Sky Airline, and Ryanair. In Asia, airports in Japan and Southeast Asia surpassed historic records, driven by rising international connections.
