May 2025 – Salvador Bahia Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, has just added another important international connection. Starting December 17, Argentina’s low-cost carrier Flybondi will begin operating direct flights between Salvador and Buenos Aires, further strengthening the tourism and commercial ties between Bahia and Argentina.
The new route arrives at a strategic time for Brazilian tourism. According to recent data from Embratur’s international arrivals dashboard, Argentinians account for over 50% of foreign tourists visiting Brazil in 2025. With competitive fares and Flybondi’s signature “ultra low-cost” model, the new service is expected to significantly increase the flow of visitors between the two countries, particularly benefiting Brazil’s Northeast region — a favorite among Argentine travelers.
Flybondi’s mission is to make air travel more accessible. For Salvador Bahia Airport, the arrival of the airline marks another step in its ongoing strategy to expand its international air network.
“We’re very excited about Flybondi’s new operation at Salvador Bahia Airport,” said Julio Ribas, CEO of VINCI Airports in Brazil. “This new route not only offers an affordable option for Bahian travelers to visit Argentina but also reinforces our position as a strategic international hub in the Northeast — a place that connects people, cultures, and business opportunities.”
“We’re thrilled to be arriving in Salvador,” said Federico Pastori, Chief Commercial Officer at Flybondi. “We’re offering Brazilians a direct and economical option to travel to Buenos Aires. We know there is a great interest in discovering Argentina’s culture, gastronomy, and charm — and with our simple travel model and great fares, there’s no excuse.”
Tickets for Flybondi’s Salvador–Buenos Aires flights are already available for purchase at https://flybondi.com/gl. The initial operation will include two weekly flights, with potential for increased frequency based on demand.
