Salvador Bahia Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, closed the third quarter of 2025 with positive results in its operational performance. Between April and June, the airport received 1.8 million passengers, representing a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
In the same period, 13,437 commercial flights were recorded, a number 5.9% higher than the volume observed in the second quarter of the previous year.
The performance reflects the expansion of the air network. Among recent highlights are the new flights to Aracaju, Porto Alegre, and Curitiba, in addition to the reinforcement of frequencies to João Pessoa, Recife, Goiânia, Vitória, and São Luís, all by GOL. LATAM also reinforced its frequencies to Brasília and Guarulhos.
Global performance of VINCI Airports
The VINCI Airports network, of which Salvador Bahia Airport is part, recorded a 6.7% increase in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling more than 86 million passengers across the network’s airports. Growth was driven by the expansion of seat capacity, especially by low-cost carriers, and strong demand for long-haul routes, which rose 11%. Highlights include airports such as Lisbon, Edinburgh, and London Gatwick, which expanded their network of international connections, as well as a significant increase in traffic to summer destinations around the Mediterranean.
China was one of the main drivers of growth in the quarter, with a 66% increase in traffic with Japan compared to 2024, even surpassing pre-pandemic levels. Phnom Penh Airport, in Cambodia, also performed positively, with a 15% rise driven by the resumption of connections with the Chinese market. In other locations, airports such as Monterrey (Mexico), Budapest (Hungary), and the Cabo Verde terminals showed significant growth thanks to the expansion of their air networks and the advancement of tourism. In Portugal, long-haul routes continue to perform well, especially to destinations such as Brazil and the United States. Edinburgh saw a 30% jump in international traffic, boosted by connections with North America.
